For farm partners and shareholders.
When a flock closes, everyone sees the same settlement. When a number changes, there is a record of it.

How to read a flock settlement
This is the settlement for FLOCK-2026-011, closed on day 35. The numbers 1 to 6 on the slip match the notes.
-
Placed, sold and livability
10,000 chicks were placed and 9,712 birds were sold. The 288 that died or were culled bring livability to 97.1%.
-
FCR
Feed used for every kilo the flock gained. 1.58 at day 35 is the flock’s own figure, worked out from the 616 bags issued and the weights of the birds sold.
-
Sales
What the buyers paid, or still owe, for the 9,712 birds. Unpaid amounts stay in each buyer’s khata.
-
Costs
Chicks, feed, medication and vaccines, then labour, utilities and other costs. Feed is the largest line: Rs 15,40,000 of Rs 23,88,000.
-
Net profit, in figures and in words
Sales minus every cost. The amount is also written in words, so the printed slip cannot be misread.
-
Per bird sold
Profit divided by the birds sold, to compare this flock with smaller or larger ones.
- Placed
- 10,000

Nothing is quietly changed
A partner who is not on the farm every day needs to know the numbers were not changed after the fact. Poultry Ledger keeps every entry.
- A removed entry is kept, with who recorded it. The owner can restore it.
- An entry is never changed in place. A correction removes the old entry and records a new one, so both stay on record.
- Balances and birds alive are worked out from the entries. There is no total that someone can type over.
- Workers record the day and never see money. Prices, balances and profit stay with the owner and the manager.
| Time | Entry | By | State |
|---|---|---|---|
| 06:10 | 4 birds | Worker | Recorded |
| 14:38 | 18 birds | Worker | Removed · kept |
| 14:40 | 8 birds | Worker | Recorded |
The 18 was a typing mistake. It was removed and 8 was recorded, and both entries stay on record. All three entries were made by the worker.
The month’s profit and loss, and flocks side by side
Beyond one flock, partners usually ask two things: how did the farm do this month, and is this flock better than the last ones?
- Profit and loss for any month or period, for the whole farm.
- Past flocks compared side by side: FCR, livability and profit.
- Costs shared by the whole farm, such as utilities, can be split by chicks placed, by bird-days, or not at all.
- The flock report and profit and loss print or save as a PDF, ready to send.
| Account | Amount (Rs) |
|---|---|
| Revenue (bird sales) | 28,48,000 |
| Feed | 37,50,000 |
| Chicks | 19,05,280 |
| Medicine | 1,41,000 |
| Utilities | 26,000 |
| Labour | 72,000 |
| Total expenses | 58,94,280 |
| Net loss | 30,46,280 |
Cash basis: chicks and feed count in the month they are bought. In September the farm placed three new flocks and sold only one, so the month shows a loss. Each flock’s own profit is in its flock report.

Check the farm from your phone
- No internet Recording goes on. Entries wait safely on the farm PC.
- Internet back The PC sends what was waiting, by itself.
- In sync Your partner’s phone shows the same numbers, and when they were updated.
Example: the farm PC is offline with 3 entries waiting. When the internet is back it syncs, the cloud copy is up to date, and the partner’s phone changes from figures 6 hours old to the same figures as the PC.
The partner view shows a partner or shareholder the farm’s own records on a phone or a PC, with the same numbers as the owner’s PC. It is read-only: nothing can be changed from it.
Each screen says when its figures were last updated. When the farm PC is online, they follow the day’s entries.
To add a partner, the owner asks us on WhatsApp. Once the owner confirms, the partner gets a link to set a password, then signs in at app.poultryledger.pk.
In the partner view
- Today: birds alive, deaths, feed and money at a glance
- Things to ask about: the farm’s alerts
- Every flock, shed by shed, with its weight and costs
- The khata, sales and expenses
Coming next: challans, stock, feed, notes, then profit and loss and flock reports. Until then, send those as a PDF.
Questions partners ask
Can my partner see the farm on their phone?
Yes. The partner view at app.poultryledger.pk shows today’s figures, every flock, the khata, sales and expenses, read-only. Profit and loss and the flock report are not in it yet, so send those as a PDF.
How does a partner get access?
The owner asks us on WhatsApp. We confirm with the owner, then send the partner a link to set a password. Access can be turned off at any time.
Can a number be changed after a flock closes?
An entry is never changed in place. A correction removes the old entry and records a new one, and the removed entry is kept with who recorded it. The owner can restore it.
Who can see the money?
The owner and the manager. Workers record deaths, feed, weight and sales, but never see prices, balances or profit.
What is in a flock settlement?
Chicks placed, birds sold, livability and FCR; sales; the cost of chicks, feed, medication and vaccines, labour, utilities and other costs; the net profit in figures and in words; and the profit per bird sold.
How do I send the settlement to a partner?
Save it as a PDF from the flock closing report, then attach it to a WhatsApp chat or an email.
