Privacy policy

Poultry Ledger is made by ByteOrb Technologies (Private) Limited, a software company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2017 of Pakistan and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). Our registered office is in Islamabad, Pakistan.

We are responsible for the information described in this policy. For any question or request, email support@poultryledger.pk or message us on WhatsApp at 0303-5655167.

Everything you record in Poultry Ledger (deaths, feed, weights, sales, expenses, khata, notes) is saved on your farm PC first, and the app works without internet. If you link the PC with an Activation Code, it also sends these records to your farm’s cloud copy when it is online (see “Cloud copy” below). If you do not link it, we do not receive these records.

You decide who uses the app on your PC. Workers can record the day but never see money; only the owner and manager see prices and balances.

We collect only what we need to set up and support Poultry Ledger:

When you contact us: your name, phone number or email, and what you write to us on WhatsApp or by email.

When we set up your farm: your farm name, the owner’s name and contact number, and the sheds you tell us about.

When your PC is activated: when it is online, the app checks in with us. It sends the app version, the Windows version, the PC’s clock, its IP address, and your farm’s name and ID, so we can keep your activation working and help you when something goes wrong.

Cloud copy (only if you link your PC): when a PC linked with an Activation Code is online, the app copies your farm records to your farm’s cloud copy on our servers. A PC that is not linked sends no farm records.

Partner view: if you ask us to give a partner or shareholder access, we keep their name, username and phone number, and their password in a scrambled form we cannot read. They can view your farm’s records in the partner view, never change them.

This website has no sign-up and no forms. We do not collect bank details, ID card numbers or other sensitive personal data.

We use this information only to:

• answer your messages and help you start
• create your farm and activate your PC
• keep the app working and fix problems you report
• tell you about important changes to the app or these policies

We do not use it for advertising, profiling or automated decisions. We never sell or rent your information, and we do not share it except as described in this policy.

Lawful basis: your consent when you contact us, and our legitimate interest in providing and supporting the software you use. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

A small number of other companies help us run Poultry Ledger. Each one handles data under its own privacy policy:

Cloudflare: hosts this website and the partner view, protects our servers and stores the nightly backups of the cloud copy. Cloudflare may process technical data such as IP addresses to keep traffic safe.

Hetzner: runs our servers in Germany, which handle farm set-up, PC activation, the cloud copy and the partner view.

WhatsApp: carries the messages you send us. When the app opens a buyer’s chat for a challan or reminder, it uses your own WhatsApp. We do not see those chats.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook pixels or any advertising trackers.

This website does not set its own cookies. Cloudflare may set a security cookie (such as __cf_bm) to tell real visitors from bots; it is not used for tracking or advertising.

On your PC: your records are protected by the app’s own sign-in and roles. The app saves a backup copy on the PC every day and keeps the last 14. Keeping the PC safe and working is up to you.

On our servers: farm set-up and activation details are kept for as long as your farm uses Poultry Ledger, and deleted within 12 months after it stops, unless the law requires longer. Messages you send us are kept for as long as we are helping you, and no longer than 12 months after the last one.

We protect information with HTTPS encryption in transit, access controls that limit who in our team can see it, and regular reviews of who has access.

If something goes wrong: if a data breach affects your information, we will tell you within 72 hours of finding out, and inform the authorities where the law requires it.

Wherever you are, you can ask us to:

• show you the information we hold about you
• correct anything that is wrong
• export it
• delete it

Message us on WhatsApp at 0303-5655167 or email support@poultryledger.pk. We will reply within 30 days. The records on your own PC are always yours to keep, copy or delete.

Our servers are in Germany, in the European Union, and Cloudflare works in many countries. These providers keep data protection agreements and safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, for data that moves between countries.

If you are in the EU or UK, you also have rights under the GDPR, including the right to restrict processing and to complain to your local data protection authority.

Poultry Ledger is a business tool for adults. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information about children.

We may update this policy, for example when we add new features. We will post the new version here with a new date. For important changes we will also tell farm owners directly.

This policy is governed by the laws of Pakistan. Privacy is a fundamental right under Article 14 of the Constitution of Pakistan, and the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016 is the current law for electronic data.

At the time of writing, Pakistan’s Personal Data Protection Bill has not yet become law. We have written this policy to follow its principles, such as collecting only what is needed and using it only for the stated purpose, and we will update it when the law is passed.
